Sanctuary uses heavily customized files as well as a custom third-party client compatible with the High Seas expansion of Ultima Online. As of Memorial Day, 2020, we are using a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CLIENT! Your previous client will not work. Your old Razor will NOT work. You can not just update your old client! You have to download a NEW client and then install the updates to the new client. The new client comes built in with Razor and it will load AFTER you launch the client. If you are trying to use razor to launch the game you've missed the point.

If you have not logged in since memorial day, your previous install is not going to work, and you can essentially delete it. You need to go and get the Sanctuary Client for High Seas and then apply the updates.

For those of you who are used to downloading and installing the client and then applying custom files, and then launching razor and putting in the shard IP address the process has changed. Instead, we have provided everything, including the client and custom files, into a single download already configured to connect to the server. Further, Razor is built into the Sanctuary Client and launches when the client launches.

07/15/202 - Please note! For updating there is now a separate update file for both Windows and MacOS. Make sure you download the correct one as given in the instructions below for your platform!

General	This installation includes the third-party Sanctuary client along with the necessary High Seas files. The Sanctuary client has been pre-configured and is ready to connect to the shard -- there should be no need to edit the login.cfg. This Sanctuary client should work on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.	Between now and when we write an auto-updater this is the solution to avoid redownloading the entire client. Always make sure you have UO closed completely before updating. If you have not yet installed the full client please go to Step 1 first.
Windows	Download this zip file: Sanctuary-Client.zip Extract the zip file wherever you would like on your computer Go to where you extracted the zip file and double click on SanctuaryClient.exe. (Some windows setups do not show the .exe extension but the correct file should show with the UO icon next to it, or say that its an application.) You may need to make sure that your firewall, security, or virus software allows it to run. We release regular updates. The client file is only updated periodically. If this is your first install please go and follow the instructions for updating above at this time. Login to the shard	Download the update zip file from here: Sanctuary-Update-Windows_12-22-20.zip Once downloaded, right click on the zip file and select Extract All... from the menu Windows will ask for a Destination, click the Browse... button and select the folder that contains your SanctuaryClient.exe. This is the same folder you extracted when you first downloaded the full client, or a folder inside that one. You MUST select the folder that contains SanctuaryClient.exe. Windows will tell you that some of the files have the same names, click Replace the files in the destination. If it does not tell you this, start over at step 2, and for step 3 make sure you are selecting the folder that contains SanctuaryClient.exe.

Run the application named Sanctuary, the one with the Sanctuary (or Terminal) icon	Download the update zip file from here: Sanctuary-Update-MacOS_12-22-20.zip Double-click the zip file to extract it. Go into the newly-extracted folder Your Mac may have difficulty trying to merge folders here, so follow these directions to avoid breaking your UO setup. Copy/paste just "Sanctuary.exe" and "Sanctuary.pdb" into your Sanctuary Client directory. (If there are any other plain files in the main update folder, copy those as well. Don't copy any folders yet.) Then copy/paste just the "UOFiles" folder into your Sanctuary Client directory. When the dialog pops up asking if you want to "Stop" or "Merge", pick merge. If you do not get the "merge" option, CANCEL. Instead, go into the update's UOFiles directory and copy all those files, and paste them into your SanctuaryClient/UOFiles directory. Those are safe to replace. Copy/paste the "libs" directory into your Sanctuary Client directory. Either "merge" or "replace" is ok. Copy/paste "Data/Client" (NOT the whole Data folder) into SanctuaryClient/Data/Client. Either "merge" or "replace" is ok. If there are any extra files or folders not mentioned, follow the same procedures as above, being careful to only merge folders (not replace them) or directly copy/paste individual files so you don't accidentally delete important data.
Linux	We have not yet tested the Linux version install and our staff are not prepared to support its use. If you are comfortable with Linux you are welcome to try and get it working and share the steps with us.
Old Client	If you absolutely can not get the Sanctuary Client running then the High Seas Official Servers client will work. Read More ..	Under Windows above, follow the same steps for updating.

Auto-Account Creation

We are set up with auto-account creation. You can just download, create an account, create up to 5 characters and play. We do not require applications before you play. In fact, we suggest you just come play -- and then submit an application later. Applications are only required for three things:

A shape change
Claiming an Estate
Registering a special role-play ability.
