UO Sanctuary
From Sanctuary Shard
If you've found your way to this page on our wiki you are probably trying to figure out if uosanctuary.com (and .net) are the same as sanctuaryshard.com. They are not, we are two separate private UO shards ran by completely different teams that don't even know each other. If you care who is the original I've shared some screen shots that you are welcome to go and directly verify yourself.
I personally don't care, I've been doing this for so long, and with such success that I didn't mind that someone else was calling their UO shard Sanctuary or not, but to some people it matters, here you go.
Sanctuary Shard
We've had our domain since 2002 and as you can see from the wayback machine it has been in continual use and under the same ownership. We used the site and maintained a landing page for 14 years until in 2016-8 our Real Life became a significant challenge and we didn't set up the landing page when we changed hosts. We have never failed to pay the bill on our domain, and UO Sanctuary set up their domain for their "Sanctuary" shard while we were still actively using and updating it in 2007.
UO Sanctuary
Their whois shows both domains purchased in 2017, and the wayback machine shows the domain was in use during 2007 and by 2008 they domain had been lost or abandoned.
