To obtain seeds you will need to find seeds randomly spawned in chests. When you plant the seed, the lower your skill the higher chance you have of getting a weed instead of a plant. For those players who want to avoid this, they should choose Farming (aka Chivalry) on Character Creation. To harvest the plant once it has fully grown double click the plant. To remove a weed, double click it.

Please Note
Harvesting from fruit trees is the lumberjacking skill, not the farming skill.

Herb Harvesting Book Skill

Once you reach 80 farming you can hunt for the Harvest Tentacles, they are believed to be in the Dark Forest. You will probably need help to kill it. The tentacles drop the book you need, Guide to Herbal Garden Care and Usage, and randomly drop seeds on the ground. You can currently grow the following magical herbal reagents.

  • Woundwort
  • Mugwort
  • Mandragora
  • Belladonna
  • Plus all seven of the Apothecary herbs, except boomshrooms.

Horticulture

Once you have reached 80 farming you can buy the book Horticulture: The Path of the Green Thumb from the bookseller next to the Shoe. This allows you to grow and breed plants, like is found on OSI. You will need a plant bowl, crafted by tinkers to get started. Please note we have completely changed the plant graphics and hues for this system.

Wine Crafting

To begin crafting wine you will need 80 farming. Then you will need to find the centurian wine crafter, he is over near the gnomes. You will need to buy the book for 10k and read it. The book is destroyed upon being read. If you wish to place your own vines, rather then using ones already placed, you will need the Grapevine placement tool. You can only place grapevines on furrows. Harvesting of grapes is not an autoloop system.

Once you have harvested your grapes, you will use the Wine Crafting Tools to make the wine. Wine requires grapes, yeast and sugar to make. You can only make a keg of wine, which will take one real life week to ferment. Then you can put the wine into bottles for smaller sale.

Please Note: Yeast and Sugar are set in the scripts to stack, but they are not stackable graphics, therefore you can not UNSTACK them, but the system will use them in crafting one at a time.

The vineyard labeling tool lets you label kegs. To do this, you must double click the labeling tool and then target the tool itself again, then enter the name. This will label all kegs you make if the tool is in your backpack at the time of creation. You can rename the the tool any time you like. At this time you can not label individual kegs or bottles, the mark option on the crafting menu does not work.
