Revision as of 23:38, 25 July 2019

The Wild Hunt is a House based in the kingdom of Raeyithia. Our primary mission is to provide a welcoming and comfortable home for those Muiri who feel drawn to the bounties of nature, close and supportive companionship, and all things crafting! Ultimately, the House would like to also provide a space for the voices of their Muiri members, and hopefully in the kingdom of Raeyithia overall. We are seeking both Muiri and non-Muiri characters who enjoy tailoring, smithing, cooking, leatherworking, farming -- really, both new and old players who enjoy playing Muiri and/or who love to craft and talk about crafting! We are normally active during the early afternoons, EST time, and later evenings (after 9:00 p.m. EST).

House Leaders
Caelestia and Katya Róisin, Murchadh.
How to contact us!
We are all on EST time, and are typically available in the mornings around 9:00 a.m. EST to roughly 2:00 p.m. EST. We also are available fairly regularly after 9:00 p.m. EST.

On Discord, we are:

Events
Although it's a little early yet to know exactly which events will occur at what times, we do hope to hold events that include:

Wine tastings! -- Share your own vintage, bring some snacks, or try someone else's!

Crafting meets -- Come spend time with the House members while we share designs, and work on various crafts together! Conversation and companionship will be readily available!

Fashion shows -- Show off your designs (magical or not) or the craft projects that you are particularly proud of! There may be different themes, fashion areas, and of course, plenty of food and drink (and possibly, prizes)!

Forest outings -- Walks in the woods, help with potential animal taming/companionship projects, and just some nice time experiencing what nature has to offer with friends!

Lore

You can include anything else in here that you like; such as the name of your castle, what your colors are, who's in charge of what.

Goddess
Queen Medb (Mab)

Founded approximately four years prior to the current date, the Wild Hunt is an attempt to bring the Muiri together in a community/family that hearkens back to life in the Summer and Winter Courts.

In general, it happens to be that though there are many various Courts within the larger Fey world, most Muiri believe themselves to be just a bit superior to other creatures, having "purer" Fey bloodlines. Many of the Fey Folk believe that other woodland beings (Aelfeyn, for example), are merely aping the traditions and activities of the “true Fey folk.”

With the above in mind, the Róisin sisters aimed to not only give the Fey community a safe place to gather, but a voice in the Kingdom and the world. The House ultimately intends to attempt to break the tradition of Raeyithia being ruled by Aelfeyn Lords and Ladies, and put the Muiri into prominence; establishing a more traditional Muiri court structure. Queen Medb (Mab) -- faerie Queen, midwife, and creature of dream and nightmare -- is the dubious figure that the Wild Hunt wishes to place on the arcanum stone.

Story

Caelestia leaned back in her chair, mindful of her wings, as she stretched sore muscles. A glance to the window showed that morning had given way to mid-afternoon, and though she’d managed to audit the estate and household accounts, she had not yet had a chance to look over the reports from the field officers.

She smiled a little wryly to herself. "Field officers" was exceedingly generous, they were mercenaries at best and human at that. The smile soured into a scowl. A detail she did not particularly enjoy, but a necessary evil at present. With a sigh of resignation and another glance over the scrolls that littered one corner of her desk, she stood and turned toward the door. It had been some time since any skirmish of note; the reports could wait until later.

In the courtyard she spied her sister ankle deep in a tub of grapes, her head tossed back as she laughed toward the sky. A dryad and a nymph laughed with her as the three smashed the purple globules beneath bare feet. Katya waved happily, amber wings askew and casting golden flecks of light across the cobbles.

Caelestia waved back as she headed toward the main crafting hall. She could hear voices and laughter from the open doors, mixed with the sounds of joyous work. She only paused for a few moments to peer in at the people they had gathered around them, working side by side and creating some of the most beautiful crafts Fey or human eyes had ever seen.

A group of pixies, their chatter animated and musical to the ear, stitched together a patchwork quilt -- the images on the quilt seemed to shimmer and shift in the dappled sunlight every few moments.

A massive silver dragon lay snoring in the sun amidst a small pile of pearls and seashells, a fen tad perched atop his glistening head and working busily to polish a wickedly-curved, intricately-decorated dagger. She thought she may have heard the dagger whisper back a response to the fen tad...

An Otherkin cat, her fur silken and floating in the breeze in a halo of gold, batted lazily at a soft, seemingly-endless ball of yarn in front of a massive, homely fireplace.

Dryads of every type (slender birches, sturdy, muscular oaks, and playful cottonwoods, for a start) bustled about, inspecting the great wooden beams of the Hall and offering healing touches to various areas with low, solicitous murmurs.

With a bow of her head to the few who had noticed her presence, Caelestia slipped by and toward the Great Hall, where she needed to speak with the cooks regarding dinner. They would be hosting dignitaries from other Houses and may even have a guest or two from another Kingdom, and everything had to be just right. There was no room for error or offense when alliances were on the line.
