Generic Version
Emlyn is founded upon the premise that the eight virtues lead the knight as a beacon of morality. How we understand those virtues, their order, and their importance has changed many times over the century. Those of Westleeuw follow what they believe to be "West Law" or the "Law of Western Men".
- Truth, Justice and Honor
The West Law says that the three most important virtues are Truth, Justice and Honor. They believe that these three core virtues were given to the Knights of Emlyn by Cú Chulainn, the Son of Lugh, more then 1500 years ago. They believe that it is Cú Chulainn who is the last King of Emlyn, and that his father the god Lugh is the one who belongs on the Arcanum Crystal.
- Valor and Sacrifice
Two other gods and their sons are accorded the virtues of Valor and Sacrifice. Lir and his son Mannana Mac Lir are associated with the sea and the great courage one must have to brave the treacherous seas that brought the people of the west to Emlyn. Cernunnos is believed to have been Conall, foster Brother of Cú Chulainn, and is the god of the land and the Wild Hunt
- Humility, Compassion, Spirituality
Which of the many triple goddess represent the last three of the Virtues has been lost in the rise of the Thorn King and the slow denigration of women in the role of society. Scholors argue if the "triple goddess" is in fact one goddess with three aspects such as Brigit, three sisters such as the Morrigan, or a true mother-maiden-crone such as Yrsa.
