Fiction Facts

Fiction you MUST do
(Disclaimer: This is a far from complete list and expect more to be added.)
- Physical descriptions must be in line with the culture. I know a
lot of people like to be unusual, and I respect that, however with the
exception of minor descriptions, hair, skin and eye color must match the
descriptions here.
- Polite behavior is expected from all Zuberi when in public. (added

Fiction you CAN'T do
This lists those topics that are definitely NOT in this culture. (Disclaimer:
This is a far from complete list and expect more to be added.)
- Interracial breeding is HIGHLY frowned upon and approvals for this type
of char are going to be very very rare. One of the few locations from
where a half breed Zuberi-Dryling is acceptable is from the town of Fendahl
in Telrae'dor.
- The Zuberi people by tradition cover their faces, because of this they
are adept at identifying people even with their faces concealed. Voice
inflection, body language and other tell-tale signs, assure all Zuberi that
they are able to recognize all but the most brief acquaintances.
Players who are intending to conceal their identity and expect it to be
respected must use incognito.
Cultural Expectations you must know
Unlike on Sanctuary where we have restricted players from doing things
outside of the culture, on Comraich you will not have staff coming and telling
you your breaking the rules unless they are listed under the Fictional Cants and
Fictional Musts above.
However the following are cultural norms in the society, and the players have
permission to act within those boundaries.
- Showing leg (to the hip) in public in Zuben culture means to others that you are a
slave, and you will be treated as such by other players. If when asked
who your owner/master is you do not give them a name they will assume you
are a whore.
- Showing bare arms AND breasts together in public in Zuben means you are a whore,
and you will be treated as such. (A whore is not a concubine, a
concubine always dresses respectfully and is treated as such.) If your behavior truly riles a crowd, you may be stoned to death, aka perm-death.
Whores in Zuben keep their behavior private.
- If you are mostly covered, except for your belly you will be
considered one of the dancers, who are respected, but not to the same degree
as a "respectable lady". If you are a dancer and acting like a whore,
see #2, if you are a dancer and acting like a lady you will PROBABLY be
treated as a lady.
- If you want to be treated like a respectable woman, you need to be
mostly covered, however full face wraps are not
required, other types of head coverings are acceptable.
- The concept of being a SMUGGLER in the Zuberi simply isn't a valid
concept. To be a smuggler there needs to be laws that determine what
is and isn't illegal to trade and needs to have a culture that has the
concept of "good business practice". The Zuberi do not have laws on
what is legal and what isn't legal to trade, in essence the entire culture
is one big black market. While the Zuberi DO have good business
practice theories, they are about honor, not your general American concept
of this. However, a Zuberi acting without honor is a dead Zuberi (read
this as perm-death).
Perm Death
Unlike on Sanctuary, there IS a number of actions within the culture that
will earn you the loss of your character (i.e. a forced character change.)
This will list those actions that will cause this to happen.
- Stealing water.
- A theft of great magnitude (like stealing from the Sultan or the
Monastery)
- Habitual criminal behavior including murder, theft and dishonoring
Acrab.
- Cold blooded murder can be either punished by death or by enslavement.
It depends upon the judge and circumstances.
- Certain crimes against the Palace - it all depends upon the judge - this
would mean breaking the word of proclamations.
- Blatant prostitution (it's legal, just not out in public)
- Blatant promiscuity by a woman (as opposed to selling herself - it
happens, just not out in public)
Neither the Palace nor the Monastery trouble themselves with crimes
between tribes. High Justice does not extend to punishing the taking of life
done between one tribe and another when it comes to matters of honor.
