Magic on Comraich

Both the game systems and fiction for magic on Comraich are currently in a state of flux as we continue to flesh out the fiction and rewrite the game systems to match them.  This is take a while to do, as writing magic systems is no easy feat to do well.

This page will serve as a general catch all for both fiction and game mechanics, and a general library of articles.


Most magic in most worlds is based on some initial or core philosophy that allows magic to happen.  David Eddings I believed used the concept of "The Will and the Word", The Wheel of Time believes that some individuals have the native ability to "touch the magical source".

On Comraich, magic and creation is formed from the "Joining or Separation of Opposites", macroverse and microverse, male and female, masculine and feminine, hot and cold, dark and night, above and below, flesh and spirit.  Magic and creation happens at the point of the horizon -- The conceptual point or act of where opposites join or separate.

Grimmwold is a private free Ultima Online shard.  We focus on roleplay, or RP was its called.  Role-players will find an exciting and flexible fantasy world based on Grimm Fairy Tales, European Myth and Lore, and some modern children stories such as Narnia featured in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.  However we are an adults only role-play game, privately hosted on our own online server.  Ultima Online is an older MMORPG game created many years back by OSI and now owned be EA.  For those who are fans of UO, and fans of RP, Ultima Online has maintained an incredible following both on the public servers and private shards such as ours.
