Prayers

Prayers are led by the Elders of the house, and will always have some sense of honor, freedom, or birds intertwined with them. The Elders never ask too much from Yrsa, nor do they ask for things that they know she would not grant for she may become annoyed and hinder the family rather then help. They would never pray for rain, but they may pray that their fortunes might change, and that the land will grant them enough to last the winter.

Yrsa's Benediction

Yrsa's Creed

I worship Yrsa as the Warrior Maiden, unwavering in the face of danger, swift in vengence, strong in Her youth.  I worship She who drives our hearts to victory and plants the passions to enjoy life fully.  I worship She who brings new spring after winter, and new beginnings.  I worship She who commands strength and bravery, guides our swords, and enables us to protect our people and homes.  I worship She who is single minded in her innocent abandon and enjoyment  of life.

I worship Yrsa as the Hearth Mother, nurturing, life giving and steadfast.  I worship She who plants love, perseverance, and patience in our hearts. I worship She who makes the crops grow in the earth, and the child in the mother’s womb, and the wealth of he who works hard. I worship She who blesses our crafts and trades and daily work, and who holds her protective hands over our wedlocks, families, and clans. I worship She who is the Mother to us all.

I worship Yrsa as the Death Crone, wisdom and compassion, harshness and punishment, death. I worship She who plants wisdom, revenge, and discipline in our hearts.  Striking terror into the hearts of those without understanding, Her gift of death brings welcome release to those who see Her face.  She knows our destiny from the cradle to the grave and calls us to rest after the strains of life. I worship She who warns us to keep the memories of the past in our hearts, calls us to live in the present and use each single day, and grants us glimpses into the future through Her chosen. I worship She who is old, wise, and stern.
