Updated 1/3/04

Cleric AR reduced to 20 because with new system they get access to invocation, Druidry and necromancy to 90, making this class a more mage class, but one that is appropriate to Comraich.

Every piece of armor in the world has a BASE AR.  This number can be increased due to exceptional craftsmanship or magic.  Each player has an OVERALL AR.  This is the average AR on their person, and this number shows up on their status window.  Each class has a "maximum BASE overall AR" that they can wear.  The details are as follows:

It is IMPORTANT to note, that these number are you maximum BASE OVERALL AR, not your actual maximum AR.  As an example, if a set of leather armor from an NPC vendor yields a maximum AR of say 12 a mage would be able to wear it, as armor from NPC vendors are always base AR, i.e. they have no special modifiers.  However, if the same mage finds a complete set of leather armor of invulnerability, with an AR of say 22, the mage can wear this magic leather armor.

Overall AR means that you can wear what ever combination of armor you want up to your maximum base overall AR.  That means technically, a mage should be able to wear a plate chest with a skirt or kilt if they like and have the same coverage as a full suit of studded armor.

The chart below details the AR values for each type of armor.
