Philosophy of the Disciplines:LAWWhether we know it or not, we are governed by rules of society, culture and law in our daily lives. This foundation allows us to exist as civilized folk, and it is that which sets us apart from animals. The cultural and social constraints that we adhere to every day vary between cultures, but every country has their own. This touches every aspect of our daily lives. From clothing to cleanliness, child rearing to civil rights, we each understand that these rules define part of who we are. Largely, these rules are respected and lived within, and when someone chooses to disrespect these rules and their traditions, they are viewed as an outcast. Laws of the land are much more influential to our existence. They give us structure and provide us with safety. Those who dedicate themselves to bringing order to the people would find themselves not only enforcing law, but making certain that victims and the accused are equally represented before any judiciary body. They might become appointed magistrates or judges within a kingdom. Followers of this tenet might also assume a role of a diplomat so that two governments might communicate better. Disputes between governments might be settled by a panel of Asoi as well. When in attendance of a formal event, Law Asoi will wear black. The only exception to this is at a wedding, where formal rules are suspended. WARSince the dawn of time, there has not been a country, government or ruling body who has turned their back on war. To do so would be to invite violence upon one’s self. The foolish notion that ‘if every soldier laid down their arms, there would be no war’ is absurd. There will always be those who would prey upon the weak. Survival without strength is impossible and hence, war may be inevitable. We prepare for it and learn how to preserve life and liberty by being able to wage effective war. We do not seek open conflict, but when a force rises to challenge our authority or the sovereignty of a legitimate government, we will not shirk from the duty laid before us. Followers of this tenet would work closely with the military leaders of the governments and prepare as best they can to strengthen defenses and to consolidate military might. Through strength, conflict may be averted altogether. When in attendance of a formal event, War Asoi will wear red. The only exception to this is at a wedding, where formal rules are suspended. LIFELife is what Law and War exist to preserve, and one purpose for life is to continue and improve to upon itself. For each of us the meaning of life is different, but there is one constant among the uniqueness. A life without purpose is a life not lived, and purpose is not something that can be given. Each person must find purpose within themselves. Life Asoi would make a point of collecting books, lore and tales from all over the world and compiling them into a library. The library would be of use to the public unless sensitive materials were unearthed. The followers of this tenet would find themselves mentoring and teaching others so that they might find their own purpose in life. Teachers, Doctors and Lore masters are among the professions that a Life Asoi would take. They can also perform wedding ceremonies, but would generally request a priest or cleric perform it if one is available When in attendance of a formal event, Life Asoi will wear white. The only exception to this is at a wedding, where formal rules are suspended. CHAOSThe discipline of Chaos has been struck from the central city of Lethe’aime and gone under ground. Few know where it resides, who leads it, or what its motives are. |
