The Mage City of Lethe'aime

On the Isle of Haven, torn from the Akroth Badlands during the Year of the Sundering, stands the Tower Complex of Lethe’aime. The origins of this huge tower complex have been lost to record and memory. Some claim that an ancient race of magicians, called the D’Jarus formed the towers over the hub of all magical focus for the world. Some believe they did this as a service to the races, and others believe it was to solidify their power with the intent of dominating the races. Others claim that the D’Jarus never existed and that the towers were built by the gods. While other claim that the towers were built by a group of mages early in the first millennium.

The tower is a great circular complex, with four entrances facing to each direction, with great statues to each of the four gods in the walls between the entrances.

The inner city is called Aime "friend" and is a place of learning and power. Where mages, bards, clerics, and scribes of all nations gather to train and promote their art. The Towers population is transitory, few call this mysterious place home. But conclaves of all types have formed under the far reaching shadow of this remote order.

The highest ranking conclaves have earned seats on the tower council and even seats on the councils and cabinets of the kingdoms. Over the millennium, the tower has become a popular pilgrimage destination, and few do not at one time or another venture at least as far as the tower walls.

Yet in the shadow of the walls lays the outer city, simply called Lethe or "forgotten".  Here all manner of people maybe found other then the pilgrims, merchants or travelers who make the occasional journey.  Here in Lethe gather all who have chosen or been forced to choose a home outside of their native kingdoms.  Outcast Jillhani, dishonored Zuberi, disenchanted Dyrlings and ostracized Valgarins ... and their children.

Lethe is a no man's land, where power and brutality rule, for there has never been "a more wretched hive of scum and villainy".
