ResourcesTea, Black, Green and OolongBlack, green, and oolong teas all come from one plant - the camellia sinensis. Tea is an shrub that can grow to 60 feet tall in the wild. Tea is indigenous to Bishani, home of the Jillhani. The best teas grow at an elevation of 3000 to 6000 feet above sea level, where the slightly cooler temperatures cause the leaves to grow more slowly, giving them better flavor. Tea is cultivated on small farms on the south side of Ashi'naa. The small farms are called tea plantations or tea gardens. In the gardens, the bushes are kept pruned short for the convenience of the workers. A flush is when new leaves and buds appear on the tea bush. Tea will have different numbers of flushes depending on where it is grown. In areas that are warm all year, the tea will flush all year long and can be harvested every week or two. A tea bush needs to be at least three years old and three feet tall before it can be harvested. Tea pluckers will take only the top two leaves and the bud when they harvest the tea. The larger, older leaves beneath this new growth have a much harsher taste and should not be picked. All teas must be processed immediately after the leaves are picked to prevent them from rotting, so tea gardens usually each have their own factories, or processing facilities, so the tea does not need to be transported any further than necessary before it is processed. Because of this, most tea gardens are situated close to one of the subterranean openings to the mountain center. Kaolin & PorcelainKaolin essential to manufacture real porcelain. Kaolin beds exist in Bishani, home of the Jillhani. The manufacture of white pottery began in many centuries ago. Originally, Jillhani potters made soft and white clay bodies from kaolin. Slowly they learned how to reach higher firing temperatures and how to modify their clay bodies to obtain the hardness, whiteness and Tran lucidity of genuine porcelain. The discovery of porcelain was a real technical triumph for the Jillhani, setting their pottery firmly at the top of the market. Potter's porcelain is never a natural clay body. It is mainly composed of kaolins mixed with small amounts of ball-clay to increase its plasticity and ground feldspar to lower it's maturation temperature. Real white and translucent porcelain is the finest of all potteries. It is very dense, hard and absorbs much less liquid then any other ceramic body. Specifically formulated glazes for a particular porcelain adheres very well to it's body when it is fired to maturity at the same time than the clay body. Misc Other
