Games of chance and betting are well loved, the most popular game being a set of dice that is shaken in a cup and then the cup dropped down covering the dice, while wagers are placed on weather the sum of the dice will be odd, even or a returning set

A form of advanced chess is also popular among the nobility and skill in this game is a sign of respect. However unlike "earth" chess the rules are extremely complicated and the board twice the size. For this fact alone, it has become a game of the truly wealthy and the elderly.

There are three versions of this game.  The most ancient form, played by the original Jillhani, the more traditional version which is played mostly by the older generation and the new form which is played mostly by the younger generation.

The ancient form had seven players each with 7 colors, the traditional version has 5 players each with 5 colors and 2 dead colors, and the modern version has two players and divide the 7 colors between themselves with one of the colors being dead.

  • A dead color is like a dummy in bridge.  No one is playing it but it can still influences the moves of the other pieces.
  • The colors are yellow, red, black, blue, purple, white, and green. 
  • The game itself is a blend of chess and go.
  • The game board looks like the board used for Go but is larger then an average Go board.

Drugs

Several types of mushrooms and opiates as well as rum are used for ceremonial purposes by the priest(ess) so that they are more receptive to the will of Ji'Kalna.

Rarest of drugs used by the Jillhani is the opiate made from the rare jungle growing lotus, rare in the extreme the Noble pay the river people richly for the flower when it can be found in its elusive growing places deep in the most dangerous parts of the jungle. The flower when crushed to a powder and added to tea is said to bring one before the presence of the goddess herself, and only the brave or the foolish seek it out, for a chance to know her face before another might.
