Description of Dyrling currency

Dyrling currency is thin and circular made from the purest platinum mined in nearby mountains. The coins differ in size and thicknesses depending on the coin’s value, therefore the larger and thin are worth more than the smaller and thick. Athlendyr’s head dominates one side of the coin surrounded by the token phrase “Take friend and foe into your hearts” while the other side portrays a wheat sheath and plate of food. Dyrling use their currency more with other races than amongst their own people. When trading with a Dyrling one will often barter before buying or selling. Dyrling are always fair in their pricing of wares though the impeccable quality of their work may lead it to be costly.

The Dyrlings are presided over by a king who rules over their lands and is aided by the Council of elders. These people act as advisors to the king and deferrences are worked between them all before presentation to the king. Much like a committee in practice, this council is made up of the highest ranking guild members from the Den of Athlendyr. Great care is taken in all their decisions and the king often listens to and heavily considers their advice as they tend to take great forethought in their declarations.

The paladins and knights carry out the kings commands and they are the ones who guard his lands against hostilities. The kings guardians are some of the most highly respected people within the community as they stand for the kings decree. They are the ones that see to it the lands remain peaceful and pleasant to reside in. The king is selected by Athlendyr for the Dyrling people after which a large celebration is always held to welcome in the new liege.

The Dyrlings trade mostly in the purest platinum coins harvested from within the nearby mines. Other types of currency are generally not accepted for payment and outsiders are expected to visit the government offices to acquire Dyrling coin. Other objects are accepted for payment in transactions including: Furs, Silks, Spices, and other imported goods. The values of which are set by those involved in the trading.
