The god of the Dyrlings is a lion centaur. The lower half a great horse sized lion, the torso of a powerful man wielding a long bow and tapered shield. He is a kind and generous god, admiring loyalty, kindness and beauty.

The Word of Athlendyr

He who walks on great padded paws through the brightest and darkest corners of our land, speaks to his children in a warm deep voice like hot honey. He teaches us the way of the land and the tenants of his faith. For we live in his kingdom to protect all that is beautiful with the strength of our faith and the wisdom of his teachings.

Kingdom is the land that I rule, the forest stands like walls around my children.

Beauty is the glory of life, celebrated in the spring after the death of winter.

Acceptance is the true belief of the melding of Strength and Wisdom. While the snow people have simplified this into the "where there is smoke there is fire", our people recognize the very fact that all things have action and consequence. Through acceptance of the very nature of the world and the path its entities take, we can accept the fate of all things, both good and bad.

Harmony is the blending of Strength and Beauty, the flow of one thing into another. Harmony drives our day and encourages us to move with strength and grace, to meld with each other in a way elegant and powerful.

Karma takes the foundations of Kingdom and Wisdom and teaches that by giving to the world the world will give back. By directed strength into the sphere, strength and harmony will be directed back into all of us.

Continuity takes the understanding of Beauty and Kingdom and recognizes that life is not a single thread of existence but a fluid and merging ebb that continually rolls over itself. To understand what will be, one must understand what has been.

Cultural Standards that come from the religion of Athlendyr:

• Children are allowed a great deal of freedom and are as a culture heavily protected. Play is encouraged, and pranks accepted with cool amusement.
• The old are always respected and cared for regardless of blood relations.
• Honesty is admired, and if these people did not have such a natural charming way, they would easily offend outlanders.
• They will do anything to keep their word.
• Mages are often older, and do not begin their practice until middle age.
• Families are close knit and everyone knows everyone else’s business, but mostly with good intentions.
