Poems and Riddles

The Dyrlings as a culture are extremely clever so its no wonder that they enjoy hearing poems and riddles while sitting at the local tavern.  There are so many poems, riddle, and general stories circulating around the culture that its hard to ever really know them all especially since theirs always a bard writing something new to amuse his listeners. 

Many Dyrlings enjoy expressing themselves in poems.

Example:

Katy my Katy.

I walk by her house day after day
Though when she comes out I have nothing to say
She pouts and sulks and then walks away
If only I told her how I felt that day.

And if I lack courage and don't ask her soon, the world will surely come to its end.
For the sun will not shine, if Katy decides not to put my broken heart to mend.
I walk to her door, and as I knock I beg my hands to stop their shaking
And when I see her, I pray Athlendyr  not too be dreaming, for fear of ever waking

Katy my Katy won't you grant me one wish?
Place your lips upon me and give me a kiss!

Plays and Literary Work

Plays though done differently around different social orders are general liked by the Dyrling people.  For example Noble Families and common families alike may both decide to watch a play preformed in one of the town stages, while the Sora'Nau may prefer a more relaxed setting and may playfully reenact a play around a camp fire. 

Many plays consists of stories dealing with Dyrling History, and are often taken directly from Dyrling literary works.  Most Dyrlings  remember their mothers and father telling them these stories.
